Anopheles
Anopheles. What is that? you might wonder. That, my dear readers, is the reason to why I am here in #Congo Brazzaville. The female #Anopheles #mosquito transfers the #malaria parasite from one human to another. Malaria kills people, and those most affected are children under five years of age and pregnant women. #DYK that every two minutes a child dies because of malaria? My task in #Brazzaville is to investigate how #nurses work to prevent malaria. An exciting and worthwhile work. #bachelorsthesis #nurse #malariaprevention #everydaylife #congobrazzaville #nursingstudent #livetsomstudent #blivandesjuksköterska

The Congolese Way of Thinking
The #Congolese way of thinking. I am absolutely sure that there is space in the car for this bag. Absolutely sure. If I just move it a little bit like this... #congolesewayofthinking #everydaylife #congobrazzaville #nursingstudent #livetsomstudent #blivandesjuksköterska

Water is Life
Everyday #life in #Congo #Brazzaville. The #joy when we have running #water in the tap! And the disappointment when we don't have it... Those days, things become just a little bit more complicated. For example, when I really need to go to the #toilet and I enter the bathroom and realize that there is no water and before I can sit down on the toilet to do what I need to do I first have to go outside the house to fill a bucket with water... Now, this is nothing compared to the about 1.2 million people in this country that have to walk kilometer after kilometer every day to fetch water, or the about 2100 million people around the #world that do the same! And after all, most days we do have running water in the tap. #waterislife #everydaylife #congobrazzaville #nursingstudent #livetsomstudent #blivandesjuksköterska

A Rainy Day
Everyday #life in #Congo #Brazzaville. When it's a #rainy day here in Brazzaville, my #brother Urzel prefers to stay indoors with a sweater, a scarf and a knit cap. Because it's really #cold, you know, 22 degrees Celsius! 😂 #22degrees #knitcap #rainyday #everydaylife #congobrazzaville #nursingstudent #livetsomstudent #blivandesjuksköterska

My Congolese Family
Everyday #life in #Congo #Brazzaville. My first 2 weeks in Brazzaville I lived in a Guest House. Then I moved in to a #Congolese #family, where I have lived until today and where I will stay the rest of my time here. The family is absolutely #amazing and I feel like #home. Here are some of my #sisters and #brothers. #love #congolesefamily #myhome #everydaylife #congobrazzaville #nursingstudent #livetsomstudent #blivandesjuksköterska
Limited internet access
Everyday #life in #Congo #Brazzaville. Sorry for not posting anything in a while. My access to the #internet has been somewhat limited, and I have been working a lot on my Bachelor's thesis. Otherwise, life is good here in Congo. #bachelorsthesis #lifeisgood #everydaylife #congobrazzaville #nursingstudent #livetsomstudent #blivandesjuksköterska
